Batan Bay philippines 2023
I am a versatile physical oceanographer and environmental researcher specializing in integrated atmospheric and oceanic modeling and remote sensing. My work spans over a decade of interdisciplinary research—from coastal engineering projects to forecasting extreme marine events. I am driven by a fervent desire to innovate sustainable coastal management practices and advance our understanding of climate change impacts on marine ecosystems.
Areas of Expertise
Oceanic & Atmospheric Modelling
Developing integrated coupled models to simulate and predict oceanic behaviors and climate patterns.
Remote Sensing Applications
Utilizing satellite data to monitor coastal environments and oceanic features.
Climate Change Impact Assessment
Evaluating the effects of climate change on marine ecosystems and coastal communities.
Coastal Engineering
Designing sustainable solutions for coastal development and hazard protection.
Hydrological Modeling
Creating models to understand water systems, with applications in lake management and water quality.
Marine Heat Waves
Investigating dynamics and future projections of marine heatwaves.
Technical Skills
Professional Experience
Postdoctoral Research Associate
Engaged in coastal ecosystems conservation projects studying hydrodynamics around the Philippine islands (E-ASIA project).
Postdoctoral Fellow
Conducted research on the Red Sea using supercomputing facilities in collaboration with KAUST.
Lecturer
Taught courses in Coastal Engineering, Hydrology, and Environmental Engineering.
Ph.D. Student
Focused on oceanic modeling and remote sensing applications in the Northern Red Sea and Gulf of Suez.
